It’s that time of the year, folks. Calling out to all local lovers, ArteFino 2019 is right around the corner.

Founded in 2017 by Cedie Vargas, Marimel Francisco, Maritess Pineda, Mita Rufino, and Susie Quiros – ArteFino has evolved from its roots as an artisan fair into a movement which seeks to uplift our cultural heritage and put Filipino style on the map. The movement strives to support Filipino artisans by serving as a launchpad for proudly Filipino products, with a mission to create a new ecosystem that inspires and encourages artisans and promotes sustainable livelihood for communities — uplifting Filipino craftsmanship as a whole.

ArteFino definitely creates a bridge between consumers who love local, and the communities who bring us these quality-made products, supporting their crafts and their livelihood. Over 100 brands are expected to participate at the fair this August, and most of them will be releasing new products and collections exclusively at the fair and crafted for the modern Filipino.

From clothes to bags, shoes to accessories, home furniture and even local gourmets, this year’s fair will surely bring you back to your roots, and rekindle that national pride. Here are eight brands to look forward to at this year’s fair:

San Teodoro by Harvey Alumisin

Harvey Alumisin has always had a fascination with bayong-inspired bags. So when he wanted to make a bag for himself to amp up a white and khaki outfit he was wearing to a wedding, it instantly came to mind. This is how his first design—the cahon —was conceived. Under the brand, San Teodoro, the community in Mindoro where the material is sourced from, Harvey now has five designs in total, all inspired by everyday objects.

Happy Andrada

Happy Andrada is a local fashion designer and makeup artist, famous for her elegant wedding gowns. She is known for her unique, complex detailing, masterful use of fabric and her groundbreaking style. She now designs modern Filipino couture that are woven and inspired by local cultures.

Herman & Co.

Herman & Co. is a heritage brand, curated by stylist Bea Constantino, showcasing textiles and artisan products from Philippine communities, highlighting Mindanao. They showcase colorful woven pieces that support the weaving community in the Mindanao peninsula.

Lokal Fashion + Home + Art

Lokal Fashion + Home + Art is run by a mom and her 16-year-old son, who collaborates in drawing and painting wearable art pieces. They also customize functional art for your personal home spaces, and conducts weekend Artlabs in their store in Quezon City.

Adornata Jewelry

If you love all things shiny, let Adornata Jewelry indulge you. Their one-of-a-kind and bespoke solid gold jewelry pieces⎯from earrings to bracelets, pendants to rings⎯are designed by Chynna Gonzales. These precious colorful gems will surely bewitch you.

Zapateria

Zapateria is a co-creation hub based in Marikina for shoe hobbyists, designers, and makers. They showcase the execution of original designs from various designers, brands, artists and fellow collaborators at the hub that are produced together with our partner micro-small manufacturers.

Awit at Laro

Awit at Larois not only a brand but a movement. A movement that aims to celebrate traditional Filipino games and play through art and music. They have traditional wooden jackstones, slingshots, sungka, and many other classic Filipino games.

Pizza Morena

Pizza Morena features rustic, wood-fired pizzas with a creative twist by using fresh, high quality, and organic ingredients. Their famous classic Morena pizza consists of mozzarella, mascarpone, pistachios, honey, and truffle oil. You wouldn’t want to miss this treat.
