For the first time, Chanel hires a Head of Diversity and Inclusion

Chanel is clearly undergoing major changes following the passing of designer Karl Lagerfeld earlier this year. Among the key changes, it seems, would be their new focus on diversity, as it’s been announced that the label is hiring a Head of Diversity & Inclusion.

“This position is a new role for the house, which was previously handled by the People & Organization department,” Hypebae notes. Business of Fashion further reports that the new position will be given to Fiona Pargeter, who was Head of Diversity & Inclusion at Swiss Bank UBS in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Though we think they could have hired a POC, we acknowledge it’s a promising move. Hopefully, it will make a huge difference to the brand, and the whole fashion industry.
