11-year-old, Fil-Am singer Angelica Hale’s comeback is one for the books.
Angelica barely won America’s Got Talent when she came in second in 2017. This year, she showed the judges and viewers she’s not giving up just yet with a fiery performance that got her her second golden buzzer—this time, from judge Howie Mandel. This effectively makes Angelica the youngest contestant ever to achieve the feat.
As one of the chosen candidates for this year’s AGT: The Champions, Angelica rose to the occasion by choosing to sing Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song.” Her incredible rendition got a standing ovation from the judges and the live audience. It also made viewers (including us) tear up a bit.
“When people show up on this show, the level of competition is much higher. Just by the title, you are amongst champions. You show up and you ripped the ceiling off this theater. That was your fight song and if I can do anything, I am going to help you win this fight,” Howie told the young contestant.
“Angelica, you are like the little boss lady that you are. You came here to win. I can see that. I can feel that,” judge Heidi Klum chimed in.
Overwhelmed with joy, Angelica was moved into tears and said, “I can’t believe this is actually happening to me. I never expected this to happen. I wanted to thank you so much. This is a dream come true.”
