We’re always trying to push for supporting local and the Christmas season is no exception. Before you head out and buy your presents, consider shopping pieces made in the Philippines. There’s beauty, food, and even picks for kids but let’s mainly focus on fashion. Let’s step away from international labels for a bit and shop from what our country has to offer. Looking at many Filipino brands, they are inspired by the tropical weather and that translates to the designs they make. They also use fabrics that work well with the climate aka something light and breathable. For the fashion-loving ladies on your list—maybe even yourself—here are the brands to check out.
Merakibowy describes itself as having a “romantic bohemian” vibe and their clothes reflect that. Their color palette is very earthy with brown, cream, and green colors, plus the occasional pop of colors like light blue. I suggest copping one of their tops as they have interesting details like ruffles, ties, and draping. Available online.
For the women in your life who want to keep it fuss-free with their fashion, check out Anika. They stick with simple silhouettes but add something extra to make it fun like buttons and bows. They also have tops that can be worn different ways, making it a two-in-one sort of piece. From dresses to skirts, and trousers, take your pick. Available online.

Fashion doesn’t have to be complicated and Solana proves that. Their pieces range from jumpsuits to matching sets, and one-shoulder tops. The best part? The colors that they come in. For something classic, there’s black and white. But, for something fun, I suggest the orange, green, and mustard pieces. Available on Instagram.
If I could spend all of my days by a beach, I would be the happiest person in the world. That’s not my reality but Amarie might make me feel like I am. They’re described as a resortwear brand but best believe you can wear this every day. My personal favorites are the matching sets, which are either woven or have embroiderd designs. Available on Instagram.
A woven bag or a pair of sandals can complete any island look and you can cop both from Inné. If you’re feeling extra generous, shop their circular multi bag and mules both in natural colors. Available online.
Looking for handmade options? Mana has several items up for grabs. They have colorful beach towels that can double as a sarong. Their clothing items are worth checking out too like their dresses with a fringe hem, tops with tie details at the back, and jumpsuits with a deep V neckline. Available on Instagram.
The first thing that drew me to Astella was the print on their clothes. Their button up tops, dresses, and shorts are strategically covered in shapes of sea animals and insects. Their silkscreen method also adds texture to the print that comes in black or a variety of colors. Available on Instagram.
For casual every day pieces that can transition from work to dinner with friends, Pippa is your pick. Shop T-shirt dresses with pockets, slouchy pants, and tops with interesting details. Available online.
