Model (and our maternity fashion icon) Slick Woods went into labor right after she walked the Savage x Fenty lingerie show in Brooklyn.
“We’re told paramedics showed up to help Slick along. She was taken to the nearest hospital,” reports TMZ. This was later on confirmed by E! News and said that even if Slick was experiencing contractions during the show, she didn’t show it—still glamorous AF in her black pasties and cutout lingerie.
Fenty Beauty also congratulated the new mom on Instagram with a post that said, “Category: Baby bump ultra-lit glow! Congrats to our sis @slickwoods and baby Saphir who both killed it in #DIAMONDBOMB all the way down the #NYFW @savagexfenty runway!!!”
“Women are the strongest people on earth,” said Rihanna to E! News as she explained why she got Slick to model for Savage x Fenty. “Our bodies alone are made to do so many different things and they’re designed in so many different unique ways. If you have the blessing to be able to bring life into this world it should be celebrated as well.”
“I’m never going to tell a woman she can’t have a job with me because I can’t have a pregnant lady [modeling] lingerie or makeup,” she adds to the interview. “I’ll always celebrate women in all of their journeys.”
Wah! So much girl power going on. Congratulations Slick!
