What it felt to live like a celebrity for three days

I love being extra but I recently found out that I haven’t been extra enough. We were recently tasked to cover a series of fashion shows and we decided to go all out. The attire set for the events was cocktail but we surprised everyone with extravagant looks.

We prepared four different outfits that ranged from gowns dripping in sparkle to sheer skirts. Needless to say, I was excited. Aside from the fashion aspect, we also decided to have our makeup done before the event. Now, I don’t wear heavy makeup but I was looking forward to the change, even if it’s just for a few days.

For the makeup, I also decided to have three different looks for all three days. For the first it was a simple smokey eye with a bold purple lip to match my dress. Next up was ultra dewy skin with a glossy lip to complement my naked gown covered in sparkle. The final look was a dramatic red eye and nude lip. Sitting in the chair getting my makeup done was a new experience for me and I enjoyed it. I learned some makeup tricks, too.

As for the fashion, on the first day, I wore a poofy purple piece from Dennis Lustico and I felt so fabulous and confident. Walking into a room, I felt like I was the star. We even had people come up to use wanting to take our photo or pose with use. Not gonna lie, I actually liked the attention. On a regular basis, I’m pretty shy and don’t mind not being in the spotlight. However, I do like to stand out with what I wear, so this was perfect for me. To an extent, I got a feeling of how celebrities might feel like having an early call time to get makeup done and needing help in zipping up designer dresses.

I really enjoyed pulling out from the designers and wearing their beautiful creations because if not for this event, I wouldn’t have been able to. We also borrowed gowns from Rosenthal Tee. if you’re familiar with her, then you know how bougie her pieces can be and I love it. After fitting three gowns, I chose her version of a naked dress that had one long sleeve and dramatic ruffles. It was a bold choice but I was so ready to feel sexy, and I did.

We were also filming a video so we had a camera following us around, adding that reality TV star factor into the mix. At one point we were even talking into the mics even if it wasn’t recording. It’s like it became an extension of my being and I got so used to holding it up when I spoke.

That weekend of living like a celebrity was honestly so fun and I’d do it again, but for now I’m okay with laying low and being chill.
