British Vogue lets us in as they shoot with Victoria Beckham to celebrate 10 years of her brand. What we saw, at least from the BTS video, was a different side of Victoria and even a more humorous editor-in-chief Edward Enninful.
They called it a collaboration between two fashion forces—style icon Victoria and icon of publishing Vogue. And that’s when two become one.
She started sharing her ideas with Edward and how she wants her photos to look and it sounds (and looks) a lot like her girl group Spice Girls—a far cry from the minimalist, pared down look of her brand. Victoria ends her beautiful pitch with another familiar set of words, “Edward, I’m giving you everything. All that joy can bring, this I swear. And all that I want from you is the promise that you will at least give my ideas a shot.”
“Spice up your life, Edward. Just spice up your life.”
So how is Victoria as the shoot’s creative director? A Spice Girl through and through. You can take the girl away from Posh Spice, but you can never take Posh Spice out of the girl.
The October cover story and photos actually shows you the entire Beckham fam—Romeo, Brooklyn, Cruz, Harper, and of course, their dad David—and unfortunately none of the ideas from the video. Maybe a surprise cover is dropping soon? [Wink]
