Take advantage of the quiet and empty streets this long weekend

We’re done giving tips to people who are going on road trips. Now, we’re focusing on those that are staying in the city. You’d think it’s boring to just stay at home and do nothing for the next few days. But really, there’s so much to do outside while there aren’t a lot of cars and people around.

So if you don’t have any plans but to binge-stream on Netflix, go out and do the activities we listed below. You can finish your series when you get home.

Catch up on your jogging

Did you stop your regular run because of work? If yes, then it’s time to get back on track. Run a few laps in your village or a nearby park. Feel free to challenge yourself to do it on all the days of the long weekend.

Spend time with your dog

You can also bring your dog along when you go jogging. If you want to slow down, just go for a leisurely stroll and let your pet interact with the other dogs you’ll see.

Go longboarding

Seeing Laura Lehmann post with her longboard is making us want to try it. If you own one or know someone who does, go to an empty street and learn how to ride one. Be warned though, you might get some bruises and scratches—but that’s just part of the experience!

Get your camera and do a photowalk

This is the perfect time to brush up on your photography skills. Go to cities with scenic locations like Bonifacio Global City and Manila City, and just shoot whatever all the pretty things to see. It can be graffiti art, a plant, a cloud, anything! You can also use this time to play with your film camera and see what kind of shots you’ll get once you get  the film developed.

Read a book at the park

Consider this as a change in scenery from your cozy home. Instead of lounging in bed and eventually falling asleep, you get to sit down on a bench surrounded by nature. You might just finish several chapters without realizing it. You can also bring a small tumbler of coffee with you while you read.
