Pat McGrath Has Created Matte Lipstick that Doesn’t ‘Feel Like Concrete’

Celebrated makeup artist Pat McGrath, who is known for her bold fashion week looks and glittery lip kits, is releasing a line of velvety smooth matte lipsticks. Hold your breaths and listen up, makeup junkies.

The makeup artist recently held a press launch in New York to unveil the Lust MatteTrance lipsticks. In an interview with Allure, she promised that the formula is feather light. “I didn’t want a matte that felt like concrete,” she said. “This formula doesn’t mask the natural texture of your lips. It works beautifully on top of a lip pencil, swiped on straight from the tube, or how I always like to apply lipstick, tapped on with fingers.”

Skin Show

The matte lipsticks come in nine shades, divided into three sets: Skin Show, Colour Blitz, and Vicious Venoms. The first consists of nude shades named Omi (mid-toned rose), 1995 (brownish-nude), and Flesh 3 (dark chocolate rose).

Colour Blitz

Colour Blitz has bright hues like Elson (blue-based red), Obsessed! (bright orange), and Full Panic (fuchsia).

Vicious Venoms

Lastly, Vicious Venoms are more of the deeper hues namely Antidote (orchid purple), McMenamy (deep burgundy), and Deep Void (blackberry).

Can we also talk about that navy blue and gold packaging with a gold lip in the center? It’s to die for!

The Lust MatteTrance lipsticks will be available on Pat McGrath’s website starting July 13. Each lipstick will be priced at $38 and the Everything Kit, which includes six shades, will cost $275.
