After receiving $7 million in her divorce settlement from ex-husband Johnny Depp, Amber Heard announced that she’ll donate all of it to two charities―the American Civil Liberties Union and the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
In a statement, Amber says she’s splitting the money between the two charities to help sick children and also combat violence against women.
“I know these organizations will put the funds to good use and look forward to continuing to support them in the future. Hopefully, this experience results in a positive change in the lives of people who need it the most,” Amber writes.
Amber and Johnny have had a long divorce battle since splitting last May, and was only settled last Tuesday. The actress also accused Johnny of repeatedly hitting and abusing her during their 15-month marriage.
But that aside, we’re glad that the two have finally agreed on a settlement and that Amber is starting over by doing some good.
