Sarah Geronimo’s Newest Release Isn’t a Song But a Gaming App

Everything Sarah Geronimo touches turns into gold. Whether it is a hot-ticket movie deal, big-shot concerts, or new song releases, there’s something about her that just makes anything an instant hit. It is no surprise then that Xeleb Inc., the very first celebrity mobile games company in the Philippines, tapped Sarah for its newest gaming app, Sarah G Popsters.

The game lets fans—or maybe people who got bored and casually downloaded the app (yeah, stay in denial, folks)— follow her to a concert tour while going through “different puzzles and unique obstacles.” But let’s not get too heady on this one: Your goal is to just pop bubbles, okay?

But to be honest, this one really appears to be for the fans because they can unlock her hit songs as they wade through different levels. So chart-toppers like “Sa Iyo” or “Kilometro” will play as you hear her enthusiastically say “Hooray!” and “Ang galing!” for matching similarly colored bubbles. So yes, once again the Popstar Princess could climb the charts for most downloads, but this time for an app.

“Sarah is the biggest popstar in the Philippines. We’re absolutely excited to launch her game,” says Raymond Razaca, CEO of Xeleb. Taking their cue from the success of Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, or any other Kardashian app for that matter, Xeleb wants to build its own celebrity mobile gaming empire. Ever since its launch last July, it has released four other celeb-centric apps already: Adventures of Kuya Kim with Kim Atienza, Trip Ni Belle with Isabelle Daza, Market Master with Erwan Heussaff, and its flagship game Anne Galing! With Anne Curtis.

The 27-year-old singer and actress doled out another blockbuster movie hit The Breakup Playlist last July as well, with an upcoming two-night concert at the Philippine Arena this Dec. 4 and 5. But will her hit-making abilities reflect on her app? Sorry to burst your bubble, but we predict yes!

Sarah G Popsters is available for download at Google Play for free.
