The Global Mala Project Preen
All the world needs is love. Or sometimes, just more people to do yoga.

The Global Mala Project, the largest unified yoga event that happens in over 150 cities and 35 countries, is an attempt to promote peace and positive change through yoga. Various intimate classes will be held in White Space Manila on Sept. 26 from 8 a.m to 10 p.m. It will be a gathering to raise social consciousness and funds for noteworthy causes like sponsoring children in need.

Model-slash-environmentalist Teresa Herrera-Anthony notes how this is her annual passion project. Global Mala Project seeks to create a “mala around the earth,” with mala referring to the set of beads used to achieve awareness during meditation. “We’re using yoga as a platform to promote health, wellness, consciousness, peace, and action,” says Teresa.

Inspired by yogi and Global Mala Project’s founder Shiva Rea, she shares the vision of her mentor by helping spread the positive energy that yoga promotes.

This year’s event will benefit Children International, a non-profit child sponsorship organization that fights poverty and helps kids through youth programs and community activities. All of the event collaborators will be giving 100 percent of their proceeds to charity.
