Ladies and gentlemen, the new Catwoman is no other than Zoë Kravitz.

According to Variety, Zoë beat out Zazie Beetz (“Deadpool 2” and “Joker“), Eiza Gonzalez (“Baby Driver”), and Alicia Vikander (“Tomb Raider“) for the role. Sources told the outlet that filming could start later this year or early 2020.

This comes after rumors that “The Batman” director Matt Reeves was looking for a POC actress to play the infamous thief. A source told Heroic Hollywood that he “wants a Zoë Kravitz-type actress to play Catwoman” alongside Robert Pattinson.

Well, he got his wish.

Zoë will be the third Black actress to play Catwoman—the first two being Eartha Kitt and Halle Berry. There were a couple fans who didn’t like the casting because they hate diversity. But other than that, the announcement was met with positivity.

This is a casting that I am going to support

This isn’t the first time Zoë has starred in a superhero movie. She played Angel Salvadore in “X-Men First Class,” an insect-like mutant who turned against Charles Xavier.

“The Batman” is set to premiere in June 2021. Who’s excited to see the new Catwoman?
