You almost wouldn’t be able to tell that we’re close to the finish line of the odyssey that is fashion month. Runway looks just keep getting better and better each year, and Paris Fashion Week did not disappoint. In fact, it was an explosion of colors. Bright, vivid pieces were all over Paris runways and streets, and it honestly felt like one big retro throwback. And with all of this color, we now know for sure that Spring 2020 fashion will not be dull.

Matching suits

It’s all about the matchies this Paris Fashion Week. Various matching suits and denim ensembles in solid shades of blue, pink, yellow, green, and more walked the Balmain runway and definitely stole the spotlight. Imagine walking the streets of the city in these stylish and ready-to-wear pieces.

Bright prints

It was prints, prints, and more prints for Leonard Paris. These seductive day-to-night pieces reinterpret the energy of ‘70s fashion through modern prisms and a mismatch of colored abstract prints, utilizing different shapes and flowers. The dresses are so flowy and breezy that they’ll hug and match your movement with every step you take.

The big bow

Olivier Rousteing’s Balmain women’s collection was inspired by his millennial childhood. With bright flashy colors and daring shapes, he brought back the retro feel and turned them into avant-garde pieces. This yellow cut-out top with a bow silhouette is the perfect mesh of fun and sexy. And can be worn to work maybe…not?

Neon blaze

It was a neon workout for Valentino’s ready-to-wear Spring 2020. Pierpaol Piccioli pointed out that he removed all the stiffness in his past collections by transforming dresses into light, floppy georgettes which gave a lovely fluidity to dresses in delicious one-shot colors: green, absinthe, peach, plum—incorporating jungle prints and themes.

An actual bucket hat

Nina Ricci’s exaggerated collars, voluminous silhouettes, and cut-out boots were enough to captivate. But then models walked down the runway with oversized buckets—yes, literal buckets—resting on top of their heads, reminiscent of the ones you pack for a trip to the beach. In keeping with the playful aesthetic the hat/bags came in bright colors, from yellow to orange to blue—any one of which will definitely earn you a few Instagram cool points.
