The goal in life is to have natural and healthy glowing skin which translates well in photos. For those who aren’t blessed with that just yet, there are always products to help you. Actress Elisse Joson has aced both aspects and also shared tips on achieving the “perfect Instagram glow.”
It doesn’t take a lot to create this look. Think: the “no-makeup” makeup look but with added luminosity. Start listing down the products and steps below so you too can have Elisse-approved selfies.
“For this makeup look, the actual key here is the skin,” Elisse said. She prepped her skin using Laura Mercier’s Infusion de Rose Nourishing Oil, which leaves the skin looking “soft, radiant, and renewed.” Make sure to massage the product into your skin to give you that full effect. Available at Rustan’s The Beauty Source.
For this look, Elisse skipped the foundation and went straight to conceal the dark spots and redness on her cheek. Despite having a lightweight formula, this promises to be full coverage and long-wearing. Available on Sephora PH.
Elisse uses the concealing pan of Secret Camouflage to brighten up her under eye area. This can also cover up fine lines, blemishes, and redness. Available at Rustan’s The Beauty Source.
Create a sun-kissed-like effect using the Glossier Cloud Paint. Choose a color that matches your skin tone, then carefully tap the product on your cheeks and the a little on your nose bridge. Don’t add too much if you don’t want to look like a clown. Available on Calyxta.
Elisse said that this is her favorite highlighter ever. She applied the product on her cheekbones using just her fingers. This is formulated with ultrafine light-reflecting pearls which gives you a subtle champagne glow. Be sure to add this to your liquid highlighter haul. Available on Sephora PH.
Groom your brows with a gel like Elisse did. This gives them a natural look and you save time by not drawing on them. For this, opt for Benefit’s 3D BROWtones Eyebrow Enhancer which smooths out the hairs and also gives a subtle tint from light/medium to medium/dark. Available at SM Megamall.
For that “I woke up like this” eye look, Elisse only used one of the nude pink shades in the Amazonian Clay Palette. You can also use the brownish shades if you have a darker skin tone. Available at Beauty MNL.
This is optional, but you can also add a champagne shimmer to the inner corner of your eye. This brightens up your eyes and just makes you glow even more. Available at Greenbelt 5.
Make your skin look more sun-kissed with a little bronzer. If you have fair skin like Elisse, it’s best to use the Hoola Lite bronzer. Available at SM Megamall.
