Today, we got confirmation that Rihanna’s final collab with Manolo Blahnik is dropping in stores and online on July 6. Entitled So Stoned, the collection features shoes embellished with jewels and lucite buckles. Of course. Do you really expect anything less from Rih for her third collection for the legendary shoe label?
I then expect from now till the collection drops for sale, embellished shoes will be the next trend. And until Rihanna drums up another fad, we’ll be on this train for a while to kick up our basics. So if you want to be ahead, here are a few shoes to get now including our pick from the So Stoned collection.
I look at this and see a weekend shoe that speaks of potential for midnight parties. I can see these go well with floral dresses but also a pop of color to your solid color ensemble. Available via Farfetch.
Out of the four styles in the collection, this one speaks to me on that practical and stylish level. (The thigh high Poison Ivy pair might be too extreme for everyday wear.) I can see this paired with jeans but also underneath long dresses. Available on July 6 via manoloblanik.com.
If you want a more classic approach to the embellished trend, this will do. The denim-like color gives it a casual vibe that when styled right, can make for a good statement shoe. Available at Greenbelt 5.
This one is a straight-up cute pair. It has a whimsical feel because of the stripes but it also looks comfortable given the block heel. It’s youthful and not intimidating if you want to ease yourself into this style. Available via Zalora.
This one gives off a more formal vibe. For those who live by wearing all black, this one might be an easy pick. The embellishments are just all clear crystals so it can be an effortless choice. Available online.
If you want to go for the trying but don’t want to make it obvious route, these cool blue pool slides are the answer. I love how they give off that luxe appearance. Don’t forget to have a nice pedicure. Available at SM Mega Fashion Hall.
A business shoe with a surprise on the heel. The pearls on these Nicolas Kirkwood shoe shout old-school class but with a modern twist. Now these are going to be easy to wear for the office and with all the combos you’ve got in your closet. Available via Net-A-Porter.
